AWS Machine Learning Services

The Machine Learning Services category comprises of several services that cater to the use of machine learning technology.  The managed services make it easy for application developers to build smart and robust application that make use of ML models.  

Here is a list of all the current Machine Learning services available. 

Amazon SageMaker
       - Build, train, and deploy machine learning models at scale.  This allows for the quickest way to get ML Models from idea to production.

Amazon Comprehend
       - Amazon Comprehend is a continuously-trained natural language processing service.
       - It's free to try and easy to get started analyzing unstructured text like customer reviews and news articles.

DeepLens
       - Deep learning-enabled video cameras.  AWS DeepLens is powerful enough for experts, but designed to help developers get started quickly with little to no experience in deep learning.
       - AWS DeepLens is a wireless video camera and API that you can use to learn how to use the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and technology and develop your own computer vision applications.  Use DeepLens to get hand-on experience using a physical camera that runs real-time computer vision models, examples, and tutorials.  Get started with AWS DeepLens by using any of the pretrained models that come with your device.  As you become proficient, you can develop, train, and deploy your own models.

Amazon Lex
       - Amazon Lex is a service for building conversational interfaces using voice and text.  With Lex, the same deep learning engine that powers Alexa is now available to any developer, enabling you to bring sophisticated, natural language chatbots to your new and existing applications.
       - This is the technology behind Alexa.

Machine Learning
       - Amazon Machine Learning makes it easy for developers of all skill levels to use machine learning (ML) technology.  Amazon Machine Learning is a managed service for building ML models and generating predictions that enable the development of robust, scalable smart applications.

Amazon Polly
       - Amazon Polly converts text to lifelike speech in the cloud.  You can download the generated audio from the console, or stream it directly to your applications and services through the API.
       - This is the voice of Alexa.

Rekognition
       - Amazon Rekognition is a service that makes it easy to add image analysis to your applications.  With Rekognition, you can detect objects, scenes, faces; recognize celebrities; and identify inappropriate content in images.  You can also search and compare faces. 

Amazon Transcribe
       - Was a service added in 2017 which provides transcription services.  You can upload videos or mp3's and the service will transcribe it into text.

Amazon Translate
       - Was a service added in 2017 which provides translation services.  It can translate documents from the following languages into English or vice-versa.

Amazon Personalize
       - Is Real-Time personalization and recommendations, based on the same technology used at Amazon.com

Amazon Forecast
       - Amazon Forecast is a fully managed deep-learning service for accurate time-series forecasting.  By providing Amazon Forecast with historical time-series data, you can predict future points in time series. 

Amazon Textract
       - Amazon Textract enables you to add document text detection and analysis to your application.  You provide a document image to the Amazon Textract API, and the service detects the document text.  Amazon Textract works with formatted text and can detect words and lines of words that are located close to each other.  It can also analyze a document for fields of related text, tables, and table cells.

AWS IoT

The IoT or Internet of Things category is a collection of services that are specifically designed for the management and implementation of IoT technology.  These allows you to easily integrate IoT models or functions into your application. Below are the various IoT services available in this category. IoT Core        - AWS IoT provides secure, bi-directional communication between Internet-connected devices such as sensors, actuators, embedded micro-controllers, or smart appliances and the AWS Cloud. This enables you to collect telemetry data from multiple devices, and store and analyze the data. You can also create applications that enable your users to control these devices from their phones or tablets. IoT 1-Click       - AWS IoT 1-Click is a service that makes it easy for simple devices to trigger AWS Lambda functions that execute a specific action. How to create an AWS free-tier account

Creating an AWS account isn't all that difficult.  This should be your 2nd step in your AWS journey.  The first being a clear familiarization of the various AWS services and their functions.  If you are not at all familiar with any of them, I would suggest you check out my previous posts which briefly discusses the various core services available in AWS then come back here to create your AWS account.
